Setting dwell thresholds that night shifts will honor

A 60-minute dwell alert looks sharp in a daytime workshop and useless at 02:00 when the only remaining forklift driver is on break.

Start with the roster

Ask when breaks, barge cutoffs, and reefer plug checks actually happen. Build thresholds that treat those windows as planned, not as exceptions. Your monitoring visual should glow for surprises — a chassis that sat through two full shifts — not for lunch.

Write the owner next to the number

Every threshold on a DevQuery Core board names a desk: gate lead, CFS clerk, linehaul planner. Without an owner, the alert becomes decoration.
