Engagement process
Audits of credit scoring applications work best when both sides know the sequence. This page is the map we use from first call to close-out — whether you booked the flagship file audit or a shorter override sample.
Scoping conversation
We confirm products, channels, period, and why the review is happening now (loss trend, inspection, committee request). You leave with a one-page scoping note and a fee range.
Access and confidentiality
You choose the channel: imaged vault, escorted paper room, or supervised system printouts. We sign your NDA and list named reviewers before any borrower data is opened.
Sample lock
Together we freeze the sample list — random within strata you approve. Late substitutions are logged so findings stay defensible.
File reading
Reviewers apply the checklist: identity, income, collateral or asset evidence, score inputs, override text, and approval chain. Queries go to your single liaison to avoid scattered emails.
Findings and grades
Exceptions are graded by severity and recurrence. Draft pages that could identify a borrower stay in the secure channel; the committee memo uses file IDs only.
Close-out session
We walk credit, audit, and operations leads through the priorities, answer contested items, and hand over the final memo plus a remediation tracker template.
What you should prepare
- Credit policy and product checklists effective in the sample period
- Score cut-off and override matrix
- A liaison reachable within one business day
- Any prior internal sample so we do not retread identical files without reason
